Rajasthan is not resting on its laurels. Home to the world’s largest operational solar power park, the Bhadla Solar Park, the state government has officially commenced groundwork for a massive expansion project. Following recent regulatory approvals, this phase aims to add another 2 GigaWatts (GW) of capacity to the park by the end of 2027.
Strengthening Rajasthan’s Position This expansion will solidify Rajasthan’s position as India’s leading renewable energy state. The Bhadla region, with its vast undeveloped land and high solar radiation, is perfectly suited for ultra-mega solar projects. The existing infrastructure (transmission lines, sub-stations) can be upgraded to support the new capacity efficiently.
