Agriculture relies heavily on reliable water for crop irrigation. In many rural areas, farmers face unreliable grid power, frequent power cuts at night, or high diesel costs for running water pumps.
To resolve these challenges, the government introduced the landmark PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) Scheme. This policy helps farmers replace diesel pumps with subsidized solar water pumps and transforms farmers into clean energy generators.
